What I’m Ordering From Amazon This Month

December 11, 2017

As you know, I love a good deal.  But, I also love convenience.  Amazon has become a master at both, and because of that I have become a loyal Amazon customer!  I honestly can’t even remember a time before them.  I don’t know how mothers managed.  Man, they had it rough.  I am happy to bask in the glow of the computer screen while I update my Subscribe and Save deliveries each month, knowing that I don’t have to get in my car, drive to the store, lug a kid (or two) in, argue about why I’m not buying the Cheetos he wants, cave and buy him Goldfish, and buy several impulse purchases I pass along the way.

Amazon has pretty much anything you could ever want/need.  I thought that by sharing some of the things I order on a monthly basis, it may help you to also lessen the stress of your Target/grocery store runs!  Obviously, I still have to go to the store, but it sure is nice to have certain items come to my doorstep automatically.  My brain is bogged down as it is, so the less I have to think about, the better!

If you are not familiar with Amazon’s Subscribe and Save program, it allows you to set up regularly scheduled deliveries on thousands of different items.  There is no commitment, so you can skip or cancel deliveries at any time.

Just for subscribing, Amazon gives you a 5% savings on each and every item.  If you have 5 or more items in a given month, then you will save 15% on the TOTAL amount of your bill.  Amazon’s prices are often the same or better than Target/Walmart/Costco/etc, and then to save an additional 15% AND have it delivered to your doorstep is HEAVEN!  If you are a Prime member, you can get a 20% savings on diapers and baby food subscriptions by having 5 items delivered in a given month.

You can choose how often you would like each item (ex: once a month, once every 3 months, etc) and you can cancel any item at any time without any sort of fees.  If you subscribe to a certain toothpaste one month, and decide you want a different kind the next month, it’s super easy to cancel your existing subscription and then place a new order for what you want.  Not everything is eligible for Subscribe and Save, but they sure do have a lot to choose from!  You can shop the S&S Store HERE!

A lot of the items are sold in bulk, so if you don’t want 8 boxes of rice, see if you can find a friend or family member to split it with.

Here’s what I am ordering this month:

Purina Pro Plan Dog Food  This is probably my absolute favorite Subscribe and Save item!  Why?  Because it is SO much cheaper than buying it at Pet Smart AND it is delivered to me!  So, I don’t have to deal with lugging a giant bag of dog food into my trunk, and then from my trunk into the house.  It shows up at my door at a fraction of the price I would pay from the pet store.  This same exact dog food costs $55 from Pet Smart, and with the 15% savings, I pay $36.54 for Amazon to deliver it.  HECK YEAH!

Batteries  I buy all of my batteries from Amazon.  This month we were low on AA, but I  have purchased all varieties and have been happy with each one.

Refrigerator water filter  You may not need this exact filter, but Amazon has so many available, so before you go spend more $$ than you need to at the store, look it up here to compare the price!

Fruit and Veggie pouches  I love these pouches because they are a great snack to take on the go and even my 8 year old will still eat them.  This brand is currently offering 20% off your first order!  Click the green coupon button to activate your savings.

Seventh Generation toilet bowl cleaner  It’s an 8 pack, so this will last me a while, but cheaper than I can get from the store, and I’ll just keep the extras in a closet.

Cottonelle flushable wipes  Anyone else go through these at an alarming rate?

Paper towels  If you have kids, you can never have enough paper towels

And, that rounds out my order this month.  I’ll continue to share what I get each month, as it varies depending on our needs!

Great post. If you find rechargeable batteries and power strip style charger you can save additional on batteries. Our church uses rechargeable batteries for all of our wireless mics and handbell lamps, etc as well as preacher’s lapel mic.

We do have some rechargeable batteries, but I’ll admit, I do still use the regular kind too. Maybe one day I’ll convert to all rechargeable!
