The Search for the Best White Tee

June 28, 2018
The basic white tee…. It’s such a classic, and a staple to any wardrobe.  You’d think it would be so simple to find a good one.  But, nope!  It can become so frustrating!  They can be too short, too sheer, have a weird neckline, too clingy, etc.  I went on the hunt, and tried several different brands, with different price points.  And you know what?  I found it!  Actually, I found more than one perfect white tee!  Cue the angels singing!
Keep reading my review to see which shirts won my heart!

These tees have been my go to this year!  I have one in almost every single color they make!  They are a steal at only $8, and they frequently go on sale for $5.  I went with a medium in all colors and I love the slightly relaxed fit,  The v-neck is a good size and I like the pocket on the front,  They are long enough that you can easily front tuck or tie a small knot, but they are also just fine left untucked.  They wash well and I have not had any issues with shrinkage, pilling, or weird hems that fold up or wrinkle.  I LOVE this tee and it ranks up there with my faves!  For the price, it’s hard to beat!
This tee has been a favorite for a while, and I’m not the only one who has heart eyes for it.  The reviews for this tee are amazing!  It has held up well and washes great, with no shrinkage.  It’s slightly heathered, to give the appearance of a thinner, vintage looking material but it is not sheer.  I have a nude bra on and you can’t see it at all.  I’m wearing a size small.  At $19.50 this tee is on the higher end of the price points I tried on, but I think it is worth it.  It’s a classic that goes with everything and the quality is worth the price.
I like this tee for hot summer days because it is a linen blend.  It is a little bit on the sheer side, you can baaaaaarely see a nude bra through it, but you can definitely see my dark waistband.  It’s very comfy though, so despite the slightly sheer material, I still recommend it!  The length is great and I like that the sleeves are shorter to let the breeze in!  It would be fun to wear a pretty bralette underneath if you wanted to show off the lace.  I am wearing a medium.
I had high hopes for this one because it gets great reviews online, but I wasn’t impressed.  I thought the length was a little too short (it shrunk in the wash), and the quality left a lot to be desired.  It was slightly sheer, but not bad, and I liked the scoop neck, but after one wash the hem wrinkled up and I have to iron it to stay flay.  That, my friends, is not happening because I don’t have time to be ironing t-shirts.  So, this was my least favorite of the group.  I am wearing a smallAlso available in plus sizes.
I raved about this shirt on Instagram stories a while back because I was impressed with it’s quality, while being super affordable.  The material is soft and silky, the length was on the longer side, which I like for a front tuck or a knot.  The v-neck is a good size…not too high up on my neck, but not revealing at all.  And if you are looking for a shirt with slightly longer sleeves, this is your winner!  The only negative thing I can say about this shirt is that the material is maybe slightly clingy on the mid-section.  You can kind of see my pants poking out at the waistline.  But, if you did a front tuck or a knot, this would not be an issue at all!  Two thumbs up!  I am wearing a small.
I have had this shirt for a couple of years and it still looks great!  The price point is really good, especially because they frequently go on sale.  The scoop neck is a great size, showing some neck and collarbone but not being revealing in the slightest,  The sleeves are a little on the shorter side, but not capped.  I love the length on this one too!  I am wearing a small.
And that does it for this post!  I hope that was somewhat helpful if you have been in the market for a fresh, crisp, white tee!  Do you have a favorite brand I didn’t mention?  Share it in the comments below!
