Summer Bucket List

June 19, 2017

Well, call me a slacker because I should have gotten this post up at the BEGINNING of the summer. Buuuuuut, obviously that didn’t happen.  #bloggerfail.  However, I thought instead of scrapping it altogether, I would go ahead and post it because maybe some of you need a little inspiration after being home with your kids for a month or so now.  Maybe, just maybe, some of you have crossed off everything on your summer bucket list and you need some fresh ideas!  (ahem, overachievers!) And if you don’t need any fresh ideas, then you can just breeze past this post because obviously you have your shit together, unlike me.  ha!

My soon-to-be 2nd grader was adamant about “taking a break” this summer…so we didn’t put a ton of things on our “to do” list.  I wanted him to feel like he was definitely getting a break and not have a feeling of go go go each day.  So, we have been spending a lot of days at home, just chillin.  And it’s been great!   I had my doubts at the beginning of summer that things would go smoothly, but it’s actually been fun.  Yeah, there are sibling squabbles.  FOR SURE.  But, for the most part, we have found plenty of things to do around here and have managed to work in a few fun activities too.

Here’s our 2017 Summer Bucket List:

1. Catch fireflies
2. Pick fresh berries
3. Swim at our cousin’s pool
4. Build the actual house part of the treehouse
5. Worlds of Fun (local amusement park)
6. Water park(s)
7. Go out for ice cream
8. Play in the sprinklers
9. Water balloon fight
10. Camp in the backyard
11. Sleepover at Mammy’s house
12. Have a brother sleepover (they get to sleep in the same bed one night…should be interesting.)
13. Go fishing
14. Eat dinner in the tree house
15. Splash park(s)
16. Take Beckham to his first movie
17. Science City
18. Go bowling (sign up for kids bowl free!)
19. Zoo
20. Deanna Rose Farmstead

Here’s a good list of fun FREE summer things to do in the Kansas City area!

What are some of the things on your bucket list for this summer?
