Hey friends! It’s been a LONG time since my last Lovin’ Lately post, so it’s well overdue! I have a few things I thought about writing individual blog posts on, but then considering the reality of that actually happening was little to none, I decided to combine them all here!
I have been stalking the Ugg McKay boots since last year. I love my Uggs, but I love that these aren’t so bulky. However, I didn’t want to spend that much on them. Then, I came across these for a fraction of the price! I wanted to try them to see if they were cheaply made, but I have practically lived in them since they arrived! They have a wool blend lining, are warm, and super comfortable! I am so happy with this purchase! I love that they keep my feet toasty without feeling like clown shoes. I got my normal size.
I honestly can’t believe I have not previously ordered the famous Free People bralette. I almost pulled the trigger numerous times, but every time I almost purchased it, I would hear a bad review like the straps are flimsy and break easily, or there is zero padding or support. So, I never ended up ordering one. I saw these dupes on Jane.com for half the price of the Free People version, and the reviews were amazing. I figured for $20, I could give one a try. I ordered the black one and when it arrived, it was so dang cute, I immediately ordered the ivory one! I am usually around a 36B, and the medium fits me well. I love this dupe bralette because it has a thin removable pad, which is a must for me. I can’t stand thin bras with no padding. The straps are adjustable. It is a super popular item on Jane.com, so if you click this link and your size is sold out, you can enter your email to be notified when it gets restocked. It’s been restocked several times since I ordered my first one, so I’m assuming (fingers crossed) they restock again!
Over the past year I have noticed my scalp becoming more and more flakey. I don’t know if it was age, or weather, or the products I was using, but it was very annoying. I usually wash my hair twice a week, but the last couple of days before I washed again I had to wear a hat because the flakes were prominent and embarrassing. Most of y’all already know may favorite lotion of all time is the aloe body butter from The Body Shop. I always stock up on Black Friday because they are 50% off. And, while I was browsing their site, I saw this ginger shampoo that claimed to remove flakes and sooth the scalp. That sounded like exactly what I needed. Although I was annoyed by my flakes, I wasn’t ready to try any of the chemical shampoos. So, this seemed like it was worth a try! And to my surprise, it worked! Ginger has calming qualities and apparently it was just what my dry scalp needed! I can definitely tell a difference and now I wear hats because I want to, not because I have to cover up my flakey scalp!
Now let’s talks about my new favorite underwear! I have worn Victoria’s Secret bikini briefs for as long as I can remember. I also had some from Gap Body, which were basically the exact same. I have tried lots of different brands, but kept going back to these even though they weren’t anything to write home about. Then, once again during the Black Friday sales, I decided to try Soma’s underwear. And they are AMAZING! They have silicone strips which help them stay put, don’t give me a wedgie, and there is no visible panty line! I mean, what more could you ask for? I am always bummed when they are all dirty and I have to resort back to my old undies, so I am definitely ordering more! After Marie Kondo-ing my underwear drawer, I realized just how many different kinds I have tried and hated. I am officially a Soma undie convert! I desperately need new bras too…have you tried the Soma bras? Let me know!
***Edit: I have received several questions about sizing on the underwear, so I wanted to give my two cents in hopes it helps you find your correct size. I usually wear a large in underwear, even though the sizing says it’s larger than what I wear in pants, (ex: large underwear may say sizes 12-14, although I wear a 6-8 in pants). So, I went with my regular underwear size and ordered a large in the Soma panties. They fit me just how I like my underwear to fit. I think the sizing chart may be a little misleading, but I would say the sizes are comparable to other underwear brands I have tried. So, if you usually wear a medium, I would order a medium.
