Mother’s Day is this Sunday, incase you didn’t already know! I came across a video last year that has stuck with me…so much so that I wanted to share it with you for Mother’s Day this year.
Most of you know that my Mother’s Day last year was a complete disaster, which included me crying in the parking lot of Home Depot. If you missed that post, you can check it out here. I don’t have a lot of words to add to this post because the link I am about to share pretty much says it all. Motherhood is a gift. I know this with my whole heart because conceiving and giving birth to children did not come easy for me. I tried and tried and tried so hard to get pregnant the 2nd and 3rd time, but that doesn’t mean that the day to day grind doesn’t get to me sometimes. I don’t take being a mom for granted, and I absolutely love the opportunity I have been given, but sometimes it’s just plain hard.
Motherhood is seriously cray. I have never cried and laughed over anything else in my life as much as I do over my kids. They can make me insanely mad, and then melt my heart away with one sweet glance and a simple “I wub you”. Sometimes all I want to do is get away from them (can I please just poop in peace?), but then the second I’m alone, all I want is to be around them.
I hope you take the time to read this article and watch the video. Even if you’re not a mother yourself, chances are you know one who has affected you in ways you will never truly understand. You may have already seen it, but it’s definitely worth a second, and third viewing! And I absolutely love the post that Katie at wellnessmama.com wrote. It hits home and I can relate to every single thing she touches on.
To all you mamas out there, keep trusting your gut, keep supporting each other, continue to be tenacious, and most of all, when times are tough, always know you are not alone. Ever.
