FAVORITES From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

July 21, 2017

The good ole Nordstrom sale opens to the public TODAY (up until now it has only been early access for Nordstrom cardholders), and although some things are showing sold out, don’t get discouraged.  Many people (myself included) order multiple sizes of things and then send back the ones that we don’t want.  So, there is hope!  You just have to be a little bit of a stalker.  Channel that inner stalker self and act like that out-of-stock cardigan or booties you want is your ex-boyfriend’s twitter account.  And, don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about!  Keep checking back and chances are, you will snag what you want.  I stalked the Leith cardigan big time last year and ended up snagging it!  So glad I did too because I wear it all.the.time.

Since there are SOOOOOO many good deals at this sale, I thought I would round up some of my ultimate faves.  It can be a bit overwhelming to look through thousands of items in search of the perfect finds.  Here are some things that I either ordered, or really really liked (and would have ordered if money grew on trees).  If you want to check out the full posts I did on the sale last week, you can see them here:  PART 1,  PART 2, and PART 3.

Let’s also talk about why Nordstrom is a great place to shop.  They have an amazing selection, good brands, items in all price ranges imaginable, and the best part is that they offer free shipping BOTH WAYS!  So, instead of dragging my kids with me to the store, and threatening their lives when they don’t behave while I am trying on clothes…I just have things shipped to me and I get to try them on at my convenience.  Then I just ship back whatever I don’t love.  It’s so incredibly easy!  They have amazing customer service too.  Top notch!

This is my favorite top of the ones I ordered!  I love the high-low hem and it has a slit up the back.  It’s loose fitting, so size down.  I ordered a small.  And the jeans I’m wearing the above pic are also my fave!  I love the raw hem and the slit up the side!   It’s super cute how they give a little peek at the booties.   A nice change from all of the skinny jeans!

I think this top is soooooo pretty!  The cold shoulder, lace detail, and ruffles are all so feminine! (white cold shoulder ruffle sweater)
Articles of Society Mya Skinny Jeans.  These babies are under $39, which is like Old Navy prices!  I have heard good things about them, even being described as pajama jeans…so I gave them a shot.  They are as described, super stretchy and comfy.  They were a little long on my frame (I’m 5’6″), but I could have cut the end off and left a raw hem, which is totally on point these days.  True to size.
I saw a lot of faux leather leggings, so I ordered several pair to see if I would like them on my body.  These were the winners!  The others I tried were all very stiff and plastic feeling.  These fit more like leggings, but they have a leather-y sheen to them.  And they are high waisted, so I’m always loving that!   Anything to help me suck in my mama tummy is a plus!  I ordered a medium, which is true to size.  Also come in plus size!
This is the cardi I own 2 of (the one I stalked from last year’s sale) and LOVE them.  I seriously wear them all year round.  As a matter of fact, I am wearing my grey one right now!  I’m loving the pink color and this year they have pockets!!!  I’m so jelly!  Size down.

And, these are the cardis that everyone was super excited to see included in the sale!  Also comes in a hooded version.  It’s a bit of a splurge, but it is SOOOOO soft!   I’d order true to size on the circle cardi and size down on the hooded one.  They fit a little bit differently.  The arms on the circle cardi were a little snug, so I went with a medium to allow me to comfortably put a long sleeve shirt underneath.
Another cardigan option is this one for only $31!  Size down.
There were so many great bags this year, but if I had to pick just one, I’d choose the Frye hobo!  It comes in two amazing colors and can be carried as a shoulder bag or a cross body.  It’s a bit of a splurge, but if you buy it during the sale, you save $144!  Both colors are stunning and something that you will keep and use forever.
I ordered this ruffle top in grey and pink.  Size down because it runs large.  I am wearing a small and it’s definitely plenty big.  Both colors are pretty!  Hard to decide.  I’m also wearing the Wit & Wisdom skinny jeans in this pic.  Another fave.  They are so stretchy and because they have the Ab-solution technology in the waistband, they don’t accentuate my muffin top!  If between sizes, size down.
I got this top because it looked comfy and casual, but also a little bit dressier with the tie on the side.  Buuuuuut, I was disappointed with the fit.  It looked so cute on the model and other people I’ve seen try it on, but I just couldn’t get it to work for me.  The neckline was huge, and there was a lot of material around the hips.  It’s going back.
I was super pumped to see these leggings in the sale!  I have another pair from the same brand and they are one of my favorites.  I grab for them over others in the pile of workout clothes.  And, I’m pretty sure you could get away with wearing them as regular leggings (not to the gym), so they are double duty!  These moto leggings by the same brand are also super popular.
This shirt was an obvious choice for me considering my last name!  I just couldn’t pass it up.  So soft.  True to size.
Surprisingly, I didn’t order any shoes from the sale this year.  SHOCKING, I know!  While there were several I loved, I either had a pair that was similar, or just couldn’t justify the price based on how little I would probably wear them.  I had a really hard time saying no to these over the knee boots.  Like, really.  But, I couldn’t see myself wearing them in the car to run errands or take my son to school.  So, I passed.  Reluctantly.  I’m not happy about it, but hopefully I will make peace soon.
This is another great bootie that I would have gotten if I didn’t have a similar one.
And you can’t go wrong with some Chuck Taylors!  These shoreline converse are super cute.  If I didn’t already have some similar, I would have gobbled these up!   They are so versatile and good for mommin’ around!

I didn’t purchase any jackets this year, but I was in LOVE with this metallic moto jacket!  I love it so much!  And, this is a great classic faux leather option if you are wanting a leather jacket, that won’t break the bank.

This leopard scarf was an unexpected love.  I wasn’t going to get it, but then decided, what the heck since it was under $12.  I thought I would just see how I liked it in person and send it back if I wasn’t feeling it.  But, I LOVE it!  It’s so stinkin cute and would dress up a plain black shirt with minimal effort.
I didn’t order much jewelry this year.  I love the Kendra filigree necklace and earrings.  And, I liked this leather circle cuff.  I have a similar bar pendant and I wear it all the time.  It’s super versatile, and for under $12, you can’t go wrong!  They had lots of cute things, but I just didn’t need/want anything at the moment.

Whelp, that about does it.  There is a TON more, but I hope this helps you navigate through the thousands of items on sale!  Tell me whatcha get and whatcha love!
