I remember making slime as a kid. I was fortunate to have a very crafty mother, so we made lots of different things growing up. And, with 2 brothers, slime was a very popular item around our house. So now that I have 2 boys of my own, it’s fun to see how much they enjoy not only playing with the slime, but enjoy the process of making it too!
With just a few ingredients, it’s sure to create some fun for your kiddos. Mine can play with this stuff for hours. It’s a perfect rainy day activity!
1 4oz bottle of Elmer’s glue
1 1/2 cups warm water, divided
Food coloring (optional)
1 tsp Borax
Mix 1 tsp of Borax with 1/2 cup warm water, and stir until dissolved. This may take several minutes for the solution to dissolve completely. The more it is mixed up, the better the slime will be, so mix, mix, mix! Then, set it aside.
In a separate container, combine the full bottle of glue and 1 cup warm water. Stir until combined. Add food coloring to your liking and mix well.
While stirring the glue mixture, slowly pour the borax solution into the glue. Stir it with the spoon, then you will have to work it together with your hands until its all incorporated.
Store in a sealed container.
