Everyday Makeup Tutorial Video

Hey there fellow makeup lovers!  I think makeup is such a fascinating thing.  I love how it can boost a woman's confidence and make us feel grrrrrrrrreat (am I right, Tony the Tiger?).  I used to wear makeup every.single.day, but then....motherhood.  I noticed that when I would go a while without putting it on, I just felt blah.  It's amazing how a little bit of makeup will make you feel human again on days you may otherwise not.  You know, those days when you are sleep deprived, have dried spit-up in your hair, and are wearing the same shirt you wore yesterday and maybe all week.

I am by no means a makeup professional!  Not at all!  But, I have been getting some questions about what products I use, so I am stepping out of my comfort zone and showing you everything via video!  Some of my products are department store brands, others are drug store brands.  Some of them are more natural and free of toxic chemicals, and unfortunately others aren't so great with their ingredient lists.  It's just a big giant mix of everything!  Below, I'll try to explain a few more details, things I may have forgotten to mention in the video.  And, I will link up everything incase you see something you would like to try!
This is my everyday makeup routine....nothing fancy, but just what I do on a regular basis.  It usually takes me between 5-10 minutes from start to finish.  If I have somewhere to go or something special planned, I may get fancier with more contouring/highlighting and maybe throw on a shimmery eyeshadow, but on a regular day, this is my face!

Clinique Moisture Surge is my go to moisturizer.  I use it morning and night, summer and winter.

Concealer in the color Medium Beige.  This is an oldie but goodie.  I have used this same concealer for a long time, and it blends in well with my skin.  I use it to cover up dark circles under my eyes and also blemishes.  I also use it as a highlighter sometimes.

Foundation in the color Medium Tan Honey.  I have been using this foundation for a few months and I really like the coverage it provides without feeling too heavy.  I use the tinted moisturizer in the summertime.

Beauty Blender.  I prefer to use a sponge to apply my foundation instead of a brush.  Get it wet, squeeze out the excess water, then apply your foundation.  It gives an airbrush look.

Pressed powder in the color Golden Medium.  I use this as more of a setting powder with just a thin dusting over the foundation.  I have also used this as a foundation when I'm in a hurry.  I will put a thicker coat over my moisturizer and it does a pretty good job of covering up my blemishes.

Retractable Kabuki brush.  I love that these brushes come with a lid so they don't get messy in my makeup bag.

Contouring kit.  I like this contouring kit because it comes with the contour, bronzer and highlighter all in one.  I also like that they are all matte and not shimmery.  Sometimes I like a little shimmer, but for every day I prefer a matte look.  I use the darkest one on my cheekbones and at the top of my forehead.  I also use it to contour my nose by running a small line on each side of the brim of my nose, then blending them in.  I use the bronzer all over on days I want a little more color, and I use the highlighter when I want a little more shine.

Blush in color Risque.  This is my favorite blush!  I have tried the cult favorite and wasn't impressed.  This is a super popular color and looks great on so many different skin tones.

Eyeliner in the color Graphite.  I am not married to any one particular eyeliner, but I do like this one I have been using lately.  It stays in place, but is also easy to remove at the end of the day.

Eyeliner brush.  I used this to smudge the eyeliner for a softer look.  I don't like hard lines around my eyes.  I just looked this up to link it and it's under $1!

Eyelash curler.  This is another cheapy!  It's under $3 and it is by far my favorite one.  It doesn't pinch like some of the other, more expensive lash curlers I have tried.

Mascara.  This is the one I used in my tutorial and I have been using it for a few months.  I like it, but it's not my favorite.  My absolute fave is THIS one.  It has a drier consistency, which I prefer, and comes off more easily with my makeup remover wipes.

Eyebrow pencil in the color Taupe.  I have tried some cheaper versions of eyebrow pencils, and I can honestly say that this pencil is worth the extra money.  The color is perfect, the pencil is super thin allowing for very fine brush strokes, and it has a brush on the other end to help tame any crazy brow hairs.

Setting spray.  As you know by now, I like a matte look, but I don't like to look powdery.  This setting spray helps everything stay put and also sets it so it looks more natural and less cakey.

Lip liner.  I prefer a nude/mauve color of liner.  This was the only product I couldn't find an exact match for online.  I linked a similar liner, but my exact one is Maybeline in the color Toast.  I lightly draw a line around the curve of my bottom lip and around the McDonald's arch on my top lip!  I don't go corner to corner because I don't like the harsh lined look on my lips.

Lip gloss.  I have been rotating a few different colors of the Butter Gloss.  My current faves are Tiramisu, Fortune Cookie, and Creme Brule.  These babies are under $5 and feel so smooth.  They don't leave my lips feeling sticky like some other glosses.

I hope this tutorial and post helps if you had any questions about the products I use and love.  Thanks for watching!  You can shop all of the products I mentioned below:
