Let's Talk About Small Boobs for a Second

Whelp, on the off chance there were any guys that read my blog, I'm pretty sure I just lost them with that title.

I was never what you would call well endowed, but I was always happy with what I did have. My breasts used to be quite full and perky. But after pregnancies and breastfeeding and just plain getting older, the girls have taken a beating. They are looking rather...well...for lack of a better word, deflated. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to flaunt those babies!  Wear the slutty low cut shirts!  Embrace the push up bras!  Show em off and get more beads at Mardi Gras!  Wait, what?

Fashion Friday: Abercrombie Revamped

When I was in high school, Abercrombie and Fitch was THE place to shop.  I used to love going in there, browsing around (most of their clothing was too expensive for my minimum wage budget), and walking out of there smelling like I had taken a bath in men's cologne.  The jumbo black and white billboard photos of male models plastered on the walls were always fun to admire, and on the off chance I actually did buy something on sale, I felt to proud to walk around showing off my A&F bag to the rest of the mall-goers.

Abercrombie had (and still has) somewhat of a tomboyish look to their women's line, which is probably why it appealed to me in high school.  As a girl who used to borrow clothes from her brother, I appreciated clothing with a masculine flare.  Are you wondering why you are taking fashion advice from me?  You probably shouldn't.  I have no idea what I'm talking about!  I'm sure it will delight you to know that I no longer borrow my brother's shirts, and I have become a little more girlie in the pieces I choose, but I still appreciate classics that aren't too frilly.

I haven't shopped at Abercrombie in probably 20 years, but I've been hearing a lot of hype about how they have revamped their style and image as a brand.  I was curious, so I hopped on their site recently and I was pleasantly surprised.   I purchased a few items and I love all of them!  I wanted to share, so here ya go!

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

A chocolate cookie with chocolate chips?  Yes please!  I am a self proclaimed chocoholic.  Gimme alllllllll the chocolate.  My boys are following in my footsteps because when asked what his favorite food is, Chase often says either crab legs or chocolate.  Expensive taste, this 7 year old of mine!  He recently requested a chocolate cookie that was "ALL chocolate, no vanilla"...which basically meant that everything had to be brown.

So, to all you other chocolate lovers, these cookies are for you!

Random Ramblings

Hey there folks!  Happy Friday!  Here's a quick roundup of some miscellaneous things currently going on in our lives.

Battling the winter gunk:
Along with the rest of America, we've been a little under the weather around here this week. We've managed to remain fairly healthy this winter, but it all caught up with us after we got back from Mexico last week. Beckham ended up with a sinus infection and I can't seem to kick this annoying cough, which seems to rear it's ugly head when I lay down to sleep. Blah.  When I get a throat tickle, I've been relying on these to help!

Looking forward to the weekend:
Once I quit my 8-5 job and started staying home with my son, I started noticing that I no longer had the rush of excitement for the weekend to arrive. Weekdays and weekends were very similar and my routine hardly changed from Friday to Saturday or Sunday to Monday. There once was a time, after a long work week, I desperately  looked forward to Fridays, which usually consisted of happy hour and a good meal out, followed by additional cocktails and a morning of sleeping in on Saturday.  That quickly changed to passing out from exhaustion at 8pm and being woken up at 5:30am by a chipper babe, ready to party, despite my best efforts to convince him that he (I) needed more sleep.  That being said I'm really looking forward to this weekend!  We have beautiful weather in the forecast, so I'm hoping a little sunshine and fresh air will help everyone feel better!

To Sing or Not To Sing

For some strange reason I often sing phrases instead talking them.  "What do you want for lunch today?' just sounds better to the tune of Skidamarink a Dink a Dink Skidamarink a Do then just plain ole talk.  Or how about "Please pick up your Legos!" while channeling a soprano opera singer?  I'm definitely no opera singer, but I do my best to impersonate.  I actually have a wide variety of singing impersonations.  You'd be impressed.  Cue the mic!

Workin' It Wednesday: How I Keep My Marriage Strong

It's time for Workin' It Wednesday again, where I link up with Erika and Shay to talk about different topics.  This month's topic is How You Keep Your Marriage Strong.

Adam and I have been married for 13 years and we've been together for 17 years. That doesn't even seem possible because that would mean I'm getting old!  Our first date was actually a result of me being stood up by someone else.  That's a story for another time!

3 Quick Valentine Decor Crafts

Are you tired of hearing about Valentine's Day yet?  Well, I hope not, because I have 3 super easy, quick crafts for you today.  As I may have previously mentioned, I don't do a ton of Valentine's Day decorating, but as one of my fellow "boy-mom" friends pointed out, it's the only time we get to decorate with pink and purple and hearts everywhere!

Valentine Smalentine

I'm not one to get hung up on Valentine's Day.  In fact, I actually tell my husband that I don't want flowers on Valentine's Day (gasp!).  I'm all about people celebrating their love, but he doesn't get any brownie points for buying flowers for me on a day where everyone else is also buying flowers and spending 4x what they would cost on any other day.  I'd rather spend that money on us going out to dinner or doing something fun together.  I love flowers, I just don't like the idea of feeling like they are being shoved down my throat because that's what you are supposed to do on this particular day.  If he decided to send flowers to me on a random Wednesday, for no particular reason at all, it would mean so much more.  Major brownie points for a random act of love!  Am I making any sense?  Now, if he totally ignored Valentine's Day all together, there would be serious consequences and great offense taken!  Typical woman, eh?  Incase your wondering, I appreciate a heartfelt card or note, and I've never been one to turn down a bottle of wine.  Or jewelry.

At any rate, I am always looking for an excuse to shop!  Ruffles and romantic clothing are IN and they are so stinkin' cute!  I wanted to share some of the awesome finds I have come across recently.  They would be perfect for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner...or any other dinner...maybe on a random Wednesday perhaps?  Just sayin'.
