Woodland Baby Shower

I recently had the pleasure of co-hosting a woodland themed baby shower for my sister-in-law, Juli.  She's having a baby boy, due in March, and had recently purchased this crib sheet.  The sheet is what started it all!  Juli warned us that while she liked woodland, she didn't necessarily want a full on woodland themed shower.  We must not have heard that last part.  Oops!  My co-host, Emily, and I got a tad bit carried away with the woodland theme, but it turned out sooooo stinkin' cute!  Hopefully Juli grows to love woodland things, otherwise Emily's next baby will be all set for a woodland themed room!  (wink wink)
I wanted to share some of the cute details from the shower.

Emily is super talented and made this adorable teepee for our future nephew.  He will have so much fun reading books and hiding out in here!

Emily has a 10 month old, precious little girl, but somehow found the time to hand paint all of these acorns.  They were so cute sprinkled around.

Diaper cake, made by Emily, complete with adorable shoes on top!  Are you wondering at this point, what in the heck I did to contribute to this shower?  Yeah, me too!   Actually, we will get to that in a sec.

Ok, one of my contributions was these moss covered letters.  They were super messy to make, but they looked so cute up there on the mantle!  For instructions on how I made them, click HERE.

I had seen thumbprint trees on etsy as an alternative for a wedding guestbook, so I thought that would be a fun thing to do at the shower.  I painted a bare tree onto a canvas board, and we used 2 different colors of green stamps.  Each guest was able to do a thumbprint (or 2), and it ended up turning out very cute!  Such a sweet memento of the shower that everyone was able to participate in.

On to one of the most important things...FOOD!  We had an array of yummy finger foods including, chicken salad croissant sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, caprese skewers, monkey bread, spicy cheese straws, stuffed mushrooms (recipe coming soon), and fruit.  Emily found those adorable tree candle holders at Anthropologie.

The future mama has some professional bakers in the family, so thanks to Ambrosia Bakery in Hot Springs, AR, for providing the super cute petite fours and chocolate covered coconut macaroons.  They both were amazing!

To quench your thirst, you could choose from 3 different varieties of mimosas.  I wish I had one right now.  mmmmmm YUM!

Prior to leaving, guests made trail mix to take with them as a favor.  Emily had the trail mix bar set up so cute and even made personalized labels for the mason jars!

Here is the glowing mother to be, and family!

And, because you can't even tell she is pregnant in the previous pic, here's proof that we didn't just throw a shower for the heck of it!  Her bump is tiny, but there's definitely a sweet baby in there, and we can't wait to meet him!

All in all, it was a fun afternoon and a successful shower!  Juli was blessed with some amazing gifts for her little guy and there was so much love floating around the room.  Great friends, great food, and a great reason to celebrate!
