The Makings of a Family Photo

Well, it's that time of year again...time to pick out coordinating outfits.  Not too matchy, but similar enough that they won't clash.  Time to sweet talk my sister in law into coming to take a few quick pictures of us in hopes that we can get one, just ONE, decent picture to send to family and friends.  You would think that getting one good picture would be easy as pie.  Well, let me tell you...pie is freaking hard to make!  Have you ever made one?  Very labor intensive.  Anyway, back to family photos.  They aren't exactly easy either.  Choosing the outfits is the easy part.  Getting people to wear the chosen outfits is another story.  I have to pick clothing items that meet everyone's favorite color likings, which is why most of our pictures are in green and or blue outfits.  Buuuuut, you pick your battles, so I try to appease them with the color choices in order to have leverage over demanding smiles and acting like we all adore each other, even when the 2 littles were fighting just a few minutes prior.

So, when you get all of those picture perfect holiday cards in the mail this year, just know that it's a pretty safe bet the large majority of them went through a lot of pain and suffering to get that one perfect shot!  Heres a little glimpse at our pain and suffering:

Thank goodness for the digital age because after about 100 shots (all taken within a 10 minute timeframe), we were able to get my ONE decent family photo.  So, drumroll please..........

Happy Holidays from our dysfunctional family to yours!  On a side note, my brother in law has been known to say, "The Frenches put the 'fun' in dysfunctional".  So, there you have it.  A very FUN holiday card in the making!
